First jackpot prize of the new year worth over $20,000

Lori Butler, from Longbow Lake, took home $20,395 after having her winning ticket number, M-6111755, drawn during the Jan. 14 Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre (SLMHC) Foundation 50/50 draw.

Butler, who supports a variety of charities and has been buying tickets for years, has never won a prize worth more than $100. She purchased her ticket on Jan. 9 from SLMHC Foundation, inspired by its recently added promotion of 100 additional tickets for $20. She plans to pay off Christmas expenses and complete home renovations with her winnings.
