Important Updates from the Emergency Department at SLMHC

We are excited to announce that our Emergency Department (ED) is undergoing renovations to enhance our services and improve patient care.

Here’s What You Need to Know
Continuous Service

The ED will remain open throughout the renovation. We appreciate your understanding as we temporarily operate with limited ED rooms and beds. While no one will be turned away, patients with more severe emergencies will be seen first. We assure you that everyone will be seen by a physician as soon as possible, based on the urgency of their condition.

Renovation Details

Our registration and triage areas are currently under construction. Once the renovation is complete, a trained triage nurse will be your first point of contact in the ED. This nurse will ensure you receive the appropriate level of care upon arrival and will monitor patients in the waiting area to respond quickly to any changes in condition.

ED Entrance & Registration

To facilitate this renovation, ED Registration has been temporarily relocated just inside the ED Entrance. At this time, only ED patients and Essential Care Partners may access this entrance. This includes any patients who require ED registration after hours i.e Day Medicine and Maternity. We kindly ask all other patients, visitors, and members of the public to use the Ambulatory and Main Entrances during business and visiting hours.
