After 19 years at Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre (SLMHC), Margie Kimball is officially saying farewell.

After her first stint with SLMHC as a casual worker 20 years ago, Margie began her full-time pursuit in a career of Activity Coordination a year later. Margie has been a beacon of hope and a mentor for patients, staff, and residents at the William A. George Extended Care Facility (ECU) during her time as Activation Coordinator.

“I’ll miss all the people and staff alike,” she says. “Just being able to make a difference in the patients, staff, and residents’ day, bringing a smile, making their day a little happier,” she describes as her favourite thing on this adventure.

“Margie has been an important member of our SLMHC team, both at the hospital and at ECU, for many years. We will miss her, and we are grateful for all her work and dedication to our patients and ECU residents. We wish her all the best in retirement,” says Dean Osmond, SLMHC President and CEO.

Margie says she’s looking forward to enjoying a post-retirement temporary initiative with her husband. She’s also excited for vacation plans with her husband.
