New Positive Case of COVID-19 in Sioux Lookout

Sioux Lookout, ON – Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre (SLMHC) received notice of a new positive case of COVID-19 in Sioux Lookout. We understand the individual is self-isolating at this time. The Northwestern Health Unit (NWHU) will follow its processes in the coming days.

We remind all residents of Sioux Lookout and the communities we serve to remain vigilant at all times and follow provincial directives and recommendations, including practicing self-monitoring, physical distancing and staying home.

During Victoria Day long weekend, it is especially important to remember that public gatherings are still not permitted. Additionally, here in Ontario we should be staying home when possible and practicing physical distancing when interacting with anyone outside of your household. Full guidelines on COVID-19 in Ontario are available online at: https://www.ontario.ca/page/covid-19-stop-spread#stay-home

We will update the public when we have more information. We know that this may create anxiety during this challenging time for everyone, and thank you for your patience and participation in keeping our communities healthy. As everyone here at SLMHC remains cautious and keeps our current processes in place, such as screening and enhanced PPE precautions, we ask the public to continue to be cautious.
