Update from William A. “Bill” George Extended Care Facility

The management and staff of SLMHC’s William A. “Bill” George Extended Care Facility (ECU) would like to update the public and our residents’ loved ones on the status of our operations during this difficult time and the COVID-19 pandemic.

As announced last week, ECU has implemented visitor restrictions and a screening station at our entrance. These necessary precautions have been put in place to keep our residents safe and healthy, and we thank you for your patience and understanding.

Rest assured that we continue to provide excellent health care for our 20 residents here at ECU, as well as many activities throughout the week. We are practising social-distancing, but that doesn’t stop us from arranging for fun activities to entertain our residents. We continue with baking, exercising, sing-alongs and other activities. We also continue to celebrate birthdays!

For loved ones who wish to visit with a resident, we encourage regular phone calls and also offer virtual visits through video-chats. To arrange for a video-chat, please call us at (807) 737-3030 ext 4575.

As we work to keep our residents connected to their loved ones, we have been emailing photos to families. If you haven’t received photos or want to ensure you are included on photos of your family member at ECU, please contact us and provide your email address.
