Due to water leakage from the roof, Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre has had to close a number of patient rooms for repairs. In doing so, we have implemented a plan to temporarily limit patient admissions, including non-urgent, elective admissions and any elective procedures which may require admission.
Urgent admissions will be accepted through the emergency department only. The emergency department will remain open for anyone requiring medical attention.
Mrs. Barb Linkewich, Vice President of Clinical Services and Research, said, “We are looking at innovative ways to provide services and are working with our partners to maintain patient care.”
All inpatient and outpatient services will remain in operation with the exception of the elective admissions noted above.
SLMHC is doing everything possible to remedy the situation in a timely manner.
