The William A. George Extended Care Facility achieved the Best Practice Spotlight Organization Designation (BPSO) with the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) in 2019.

William A. George Extended Care

The William A. George Extended Care Facility is a 21-bed long-term care facility operated by Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Care Centre.

We are located at 75 Fifth Avenue in Sioux Lookout, Ontario (see map below). Guest parking is provided in the circular driveway in front of the main entrance.

SLMHC, Lac Seul First Nation celebrate Indigenous History Month with fish fry for ECU Residents
In honour of celebrating Indigenous History Month, residents at the William A. George Extended Care Facility (ECU) were treated to a Fish Fry on June 23. The event, which was held at ECU, was put on in collaboration with Lac Seul First Nation, Mahkwa Lodge, and Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre (SLMHC).

The COVID-19 outbreak, announced on February, 14, is declared over at the William. A George Extended Care Facility (ECU). Visitation limits have now been lifted.

SLMHC getting significant planning grant, advancing new Long-Term Care facility
Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre (SLMHC) is excited to announce it will be receiving a planning grant, up to $2.5 million, from the Ministry of Long-Term Care, bringing SLMHC one-step closer to a new 96-bed long-term care facility.
