SLMHC new Board Chair – Kristen Carroll

The Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre (SLMHC) Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Ms. Kristen Carroll has been appointed as the board chair. Ms. Carroll has served on the SLMHC Board for two years and brings extensive expertise in health governance, program delivery and emergency management.

Ms. Carroll replaces Ms. Sadie Maxwell who has served as the board chair for many years. Ms. Maxwell will remain committed to supporting the board and the communities we serve in by continuing as a member of the board, representing the Windigo First Nations council. The Board of Directors express their gratitude to Ms. Maxwell for her contribution and commitment to the organization.

“I am deeply grateful to the SLMHC Board of Directors for your unwavering support and guidance throughout my tenure as the board chair. It has been a privilege and an honour to work alongside such dedicated and hardworking staff. Serving as the board chair has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career,” says Ms. Sadie Maxwell.

As board chair, Ms. Carroll will be a great asset to SLMHC as we continue on our journey to becoming a Centre of Excellence in First Nations and northern health care.

“It is a great honor to assume the role of the board chair. I am dedicated to strengthening partnerships, promoting collaborative governance, and ensuring that SLMHC delivers culturally responsive and exemplary health services to the communities under its care. I am committed to upholding the highest standards of leadership to advance the health and well-being of the populations we serve,” says Ms. Kristen Carroll.
