Obstetrical Unit

Having a baby?  It can be an exciting and anxious time! Here at SLMHC we have a labour and delivery unit (obstetrical unit) staffed by a team of registered nurse and physicians. Our maternity floor consists of three state-of-the-art labour and delivery rooms, and five post-partum beds.

Integrated Pregnancy Program

We offer pre and post natal services through our Integrated Pregnancy Program (IPP).  This program also addresses addictions issues, using tapering programs for both parents.  A breastfeeding clinic is also part of the IPP portfolio.

The IPP provides service on an outpatient basis and works closely with our inpatient obstetrical unit.

Here at SLMHC, we participate in the Baby-Friendly Initiative, which protects, promotes and supports positive breastfeeding practices.
