Reports To: Aramark Manager

Job Summary:

The Dietary Menu Aide will work collaboratively with all members of the interdisciplinary health care team at Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre (SLMHC) to support and enhance the services of the Dietary Department and ensure the provision of safe, holistic, patient centered care to our clients. The Dietary Menu Aide ensures that the expected outcomes are achieved through the use of excellent communication, professional ethics and behaviors and the demonstration of proper regard for patient confidential/privacy at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Grade 12 or GED
  • Post-Secondary Education in Nutrition or 2 years’ experience in Dietary
  • Must have food service experience
  • Preferred knowledge of Meditech
  • Safe Food Handler’s Certificate (Certification to be current within last 5 year)
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team environment including ability to meet changing deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills both written and oral
  • Demonstrated ability in problem-solving and decision making
  • ·Must be physically able to perform all assigned tasks
  • Applicants must have flexibility to work mainly days and weekends.
Job Duties:

The Dietary Menu Aide is responsible for the overall review and systems updates using Computrition and review of patient diet orders.

  • Food preparation and distribution of patient and resident meals including transportation of patient meal cart to and from patient care areas
  • Maintain food safety standards at all times
  • Attention to detail and ability to properly follow instructions for dietary needs
  • Must adhere to organizational policies and procedures concerning cleaning, hand hygiene and the use of Personal Protective Equipment in support of infection control measures and attend training when necessary

Physical Demands:

  • Considerable walking, lifting, standing, pushing, pulling and bending
  • Frequently required to lift up to 30lbs
Salary:$22.67 - $24.57 in accordance with CUPE Collective Agreement
