Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Patient Care Services, the Manager is accountable for the organization, management and leadership of various interdisciplinary teams of the hospital, including: Counsellors, Nurses, Social Workers, Dietitians, Kinesiologist and Admin staff.  Through the use of leadership skills, management tools, an understanding of the decision-making processes and the responsible use of resources, the Manager leads the departments in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of services in alignment with organizational goals and objectives to ensure
quality client care. The Manager works collaboratively with management, staff and physicians at SLMHC.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a health, allied health, or social services field of study or equivalent (other postsecondary education and related experience may be considered) required.
• 1-2 years healthcare leadership and supervisory experience preferred.
• Registration and good standing with a relevant professional regulatory body (if applicable) preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of mental health, substance use, harm reduction, recovery-oriented practices, diabetes intervention and telemedicine.
• Demonstrated abilities in leadership roles, effective communication, problem solving, team building, conflict resolution, decision making, managing change and group processes.
• An advocate and role model for psychological safety, trauma informed care, harm reduction, cultural safety, and inclusion.
• Excellent organizational, prioritization, and multitasking capabilities.
• Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe products and email required.
• Proven experience with program development, staff supervision, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Cultural competency and experience working with diverse populations, including Indigenous and underserved communities.

Job Duties:
• Plan, implement, and align services (mental health, addiction, diabetes management, and telemedicine) with organizational goals, community needs, and policy frameworks while guiding and facilitating program development.
• Integrate harm reduction, trauma-informed, and culturally appropriate approaches.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, accreditation standards, mandatory reporting, financial reporting, and data quality requirements.
• Lead a multi-disciplinary team, overseeing all personnel matters (hiring, coaching, training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions), while developing department goals, performance management systems, and providing clinical support to frontline staff.
• Stay informed on emerging trends to enhance program effectiveness.
• Manage daily operations, staffing, caseloads, and service delivery.
• Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to build sustainable partnerships.
• Maintain and monitor financial and budgetary responsibilities.
• Provides guidance to problem solve clinical, ethical, and moral issues.
• Other duties that may be deemed necessary by immediate supervisor.
• Travel may be required.
